Submission & Screening Guide
Submission
Film Length
Your short film must be between 5 and 20 minutes in Long.
Storyline
The film must have a captivating storyline, implying a strong narrative, an engaging plot, and compelling characters.
Crew List
You must provide a complete list of your short film crew members. This should include names and roles (e.g., director, writer, cinematographer, actors, etc.).
Submission Deadline & Fee
Short film entries will close on February 25, 2025. Submission is free of charge.
Screening
Review Panel
All submitted short films will be reviewed by:
- Film Institute Professors
- Renowned Theater Actors
- Film Critics
Level 1 Screening
A preliminary screening (Level 1) will be conducted within 2 days of submission.
Selection & Top 40 Screening
Films that pass the first level of screening will advance to the next stage. The top 40 reviewed short films will be selected for public screening at the Coimbatore Film Festival.
Festival Screening Procedure
Jury Interaction
If your short film is selected for the Coimbatore Film Festival Short Film Competition, your crew will have the opportunity to interact directly with the jury for reviews and feedback
Public Screening
The top 40 selected short films will be screened in front of a live audience at the Film Festival.
Festival Screening Fee
A festival screening fee of ₹4,500 is required for films selected for screening.
